| This innovative canoe cart enables one person to get a canoe on and off the car alone!
Portage the canoe short to medium distances. The large wheels go over rough ground easily and slide off for storage. Leave the cart frame on the canoe while you paddle. Featured in the March 2002 issue of Canoe & Kayak magazine, new products section (pg.75).
My Story With a background in technology and park rangering, I began experimenting and observing paddlers portage and cartop their boats. It became clear that most canoeists were simply doing these tasks the old fashioned way, struggling. Frequently, I'd see canoes sit all day on a vehicle and never wetted. Lots of folks purchase a canoe based on what they can lift, this consideration changes dramatically if you use a P.O. Wheelee, because you're only lifting half the weight of the canoe. If you're planning a canoe purchase, I'll be glad to let you know if a P.O. Wheelee can be made for it. |
